George Burley is hoping Scotland's proposed friendly against Argentina will go ahead.
A meeting has been pencilled in for November this year, but the cost of bringing the South Americans to Hampden Park would push ticket prices up to over
The SFA last week asked fans to give their thoughts on whether the game should go ahead, but Burley believes it could prove a vital test for his team.
"When you go to other countries it costs a lot of money to watch football these days and it was an idea to try to bring one of the best teams in the world such as Argentina to Hampden," he explained.
"The idea is not dead in the water yet and negotiations are still ongoing. We would like this game to go ahead.
"For me it will be an interesting and worthwhile exercise should we pull this off.
"The opportunity to play a glamour match like this against such illustrious opponents doesn't come around that often."
